On December 18, 2023, we visited the east side of the Las Vegas Strip. The casinos on our route were Westgate, Mohegan Casino, Oyo, Ellis Island, Tuscany, and Silver Sevens, in that order.

We visited Fontainebleau first. That is in another trip report.

Westgate

Westgate was slow. It only had a few tables open. There was $10 6/5 blackjack, craps, and 000 roulette. The 3/2 blackjack table and baccarat were $25.

There is a new smoke-free bar next to Starbucks. It has better $1 video poker than the other bars. Players will find $1 and higher 9/7 Double Bonus and 9/6 Double Double Bonus.

Mohegan Casino

Mohegan Casino was as slow as always. It had a variety of $15 games, like craps, 00 roulette, and 3/2 blackjack. Free Bet Blackjack with a 3/2 payout was $10. That is the lowest minimum bet for the game in Las Vegas.

Oyo

Oyo was the same as it ever was. Its pit was reasonably busy for the Monday before Christmas. There is one $1 blackjack table. The 00 roulette and 6/5 blackjack was $5. Craps and 3/2 blackjack were $10. There are no other table games at Oyo.

Ellis Island

Ellis Island was busy. The $5 craps table and $5 3/2 blackjack one are still there. Most blackjack is $10. Double zero roulette is also $10.

Tuscany

The big news out of Tuscany is that table games are back. There are five tables. The double zero roulette game is $10. There is also 3/2 six-deck blackjack for $10. Double-deck blackjack is available but was not open during our visit.

We found two banks of video poker with 9/7 Double Bonus Poker. One is behind the back part of the bar. The other is in the rear of the nonsmoking area.

Silver Sevens

Silver Sevens was our last stop. It has some positive changes, including some remodeling and a new, expanded table game pit. Silver Sevens will become The Continental in the next couple of years. That was its original name.

The new table game pit has a larger variety than the old one. There is $5 double zero roulette. Craps is $10 with 3-4-5 times odds. The field pays triple on 12. It is on a full table. In the old Silver Sevens pit, craps was in a small tub that only had one dealer.

There is $10 3/2 six-deck blackjack. There is an Ultimate Texas Hold’em table. It was closed during our visit. The minimum should be $5 or $10 when it is open.

The video poker at Silver Sevens is poor. The best game we found is just below 99%. Most locals casinos at least have 9/7 Double Bonus Poker and/or 8/5 Bonus Poker. Neither is available at Silver Sevens.

F1 teardown is still a nuisance

It was tough getting around the east side of the Strip. There is still a lot of construction related to removing F1 infrastructure. The roads are torn up. The intersections around Ellis Island are especially bad.
