Downtown Las Vegas casinos
Our first section covers downtown Las Vegas. There are 12 casinos in the Fremont Street Experience area. Each holds a unique place in the market. Three downtown casinos are owned by Boyd Gaming. Another three are part of the Stevens family. Binion’s and Four Queens have the same parent company. The other four casinos are independent of other gaming companies in downtown Las Vegas.
Downtown Las Vegas offers better value than the Strip. Hotel rates are usually lower. The same can be said for resort fees. Two downtown Las Vegas hotels have no resort fee. Restaurants have lower prices. Fine dining can be half the cost downtown than on the Las Vegas Strip.
Casino games tend to be looser in downtown Las Vegas. Many casinos pay 3/2 on all blackjacks. The best blackjack game in Las Vegas is found at El Cortez. Eight of the twelve downtown Las Vegas casinos offer better craps odds than the 3-4-5 times found on the Strip.
The best video poker in Las Vegas is downtown. This includes full pay Joker Poker, Double Bonus Poker, Bonus Poker Deluxe, Jacks or Better, Bonus Poker, Deuces Joker Wild, and Not-So-Ugly-Ducks, which is the best Deuces Wild game in Las Vegas.
Only three downtown Las Vegas casinos deal triple zero roulette. On the Strip, every casino has it. You can even play single zero roulette at Plaza. It starts at $15.

Las Vegas Strip casinos and hotels
The Las Vegas Strip is where the largest resorts are. Most Las Vegas Strip casinos have massive hotels with many restaurants and shows. These range from the value market where the cheapest rooms and eats are, up to five-star resorts full of the most exclusive dining, nightlife, and hotel rooms.
Our Las Vegas Strip hotel and casino guide covers all the types of hotel rooms you will find at each resort. From basic rooms to suites, we have it. Vegas Advantage also has all the dining options available on each property, from food courts to the finest restaurants. There is a listing of each casino’s entertainment. Locals and off-strip casinos and hotels
There are dozens of Las Vegas locals and off-strip casinos. Most offer a superior value when compared to the Las Vegas Strip. Many have better games than downtown Las Vegas casinos.
Most off-strip casinos have limited amenities. These are mostly gaming establishments with a few dining options, a small hotel, and limited entertainment beyond gambling. However, some casinos have movie theaters, bowling alleys, and family entertainment options. Off-strip casinos are sometimes within walking distance of the Las Vegas Strip. Others are miles away in the neighborhood areas where locals live.
The video poker in locals casinos tends to be among the best in the market. Almost all blackjack pays 3/2. Only a few off-strip and locals casinos deal triple zero roulette. If you are looking for value, these are often the best casinos for it.
