Cadence Crossing is a new Boyd Gaming casino. It is on Boulder Highway at Warm Springs. It replaced neighboring Jokers Wild, which closed a few days earlier. Vegas Advantage was invited to a pre-opening tour.
Cadence Crossing has no table games. It has about 450 machines. Of those, 150 came from Jokers Wild. The rest are new. The options are slots, video poker, video keno, and electronic table games.
Cadence Crossing has two restaurants. The full-service option is Tin Lizard Bar & Grill. It has a bar with video poker, a stage where musicians will perform several nights a week, and two seating sections. Tacos Los Gauchos is a 24-hour taco shop.
All 100 or so Jokers Wild employees moved to Cadence Crossing. A company spokesperson told us this morning that the casino also hired 25 to 30 additional employees.
Electronic table games
Bubble craps and crapless craps, heads-up 6:5 blackjack, multi-player double zero roulette, and Casino Wizard games are available. The dice games and blackjack are $3. Roulette is $1. On the Casino Wizard, the $1 games are baccarat, double zero roulette, big six, and pai gow poker. Craps with 2x odds, 3:2 blackjack that stands on soft 17, and Triple Card Poker (Three Card Poker) are $3.

Video poker
The best video poker game is $2, $5, and $10 9/6 Jacks or Better (99.54%). It is on the bartops at Tin Lizard, the full-service dining option.
After 9/6 Jacks, the next best game is 8/5 Bonus Poker (99.17%). It is available on the floor at $1 and higher denominations and on one old Game King moved from Jokers Wild at $0.25 and higher. The two bars have it in $2 and higher denominations. These machines also have other 99% games like 9/7 Double Bonus, 9/6 Double Double Bonus, and 15/9 Deuces Wild.
These games, except 9/6 Jacks, are available on some 3/5/10 play machines at $0.25 and higher denominations. The variants like Ultimate X have a range of paytables from 96% up to around 98.5% and start at nickels, except a few machines moved over from Jokers Wild with $0.01 and $0.02.

The verdict
Cadence Crossing Casino will be a huge hit in the neighborhood. It is by far the nicest casino near downtown Henderson and is a huge upgrade from Jokers Wild. Its closest competitors are Club Fortune, Emerald Island, Klondike Sunset, Pass, Rainbow Club, and Skyline. All are slots-only, except Skyline, which has live poker and blackjack a few nights a week. The closest casino with table games is Sunset Station. Cadence Crossing is well-positioned to thrive in the area.
It is probably not a casino that will see many tourists or visits from players in other parts of town. It is meant to be a nice property for the area, and it succeeded with that goal.
