Vegas Advantage has learned the Caesars Palace poker room intends to reopen on May 16, 2025, less than two weeks before the World Series of Poker, according to a source with knowledge of the plan.
The new poker room will be in the Appian Way retail area. This corridor runs between two back sections of the casino. One end starts near the Bacchanal Buffet. The other side is at the Caesars Rewards players center near Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill. The poker room will be by the Statue of David.
The new Caesars Palace poker room will host eight tables, half the number of its previous room that closed in August 2024, which was once to the left of the Caesars Sportsbook. It will expand or relocate if business levels permit.

The original Caesars Palace poker room was on the other side of the sportsbook from the one that closed last year. It had 63 tables when it relocated in June 2014.
The poker room that closed in August 2024 was later used for high limit slots during a recent remodeling of two VIP areas that host high-denomination machines, which has since finished. The former poker space now has a variety of lower-limit machines. The original poker room vacated in 2014 is now part of the OMNIA Nightclub.
Today, Horseshoe is Caesars Entertainment’s only open Las Vegas poker room.
Poker may return to Planet Hollywood
Rumors have heated up recently about Planet Hollywood’s poker room reopening. Its proposed location, according to a source with knowledge of the discussions, is in convention space near the Mezzanine, possibly in or near the former Diamond Lounge.
Planet Hollywood’s last poker room closed in 2021. If the Planet Hollywood poker room reopens, its timing will likely coincide with the start of this year’s World Series of Poker.
Las Vegas currently has 17 live poker rooms
Sahara’s poker room closed in November 2024. It was replaced with slot machines, which left 17 Las Vegas poker rooms. The market had at least 58 poker rooms during the boom in the late 2000s. In March 2020, before the pandemic closure, there were 31. There have been 40 permanent Las Vegas poker room closures since 2012. At least two more closed in 2011.
