Henderson Casinos Offering the Best Value

Skyline Hotel and Casino in Henderson, Nevada

Henderson offers some of the best casinos for low limit players. The value is like no other part of the Las Vegas casino market.

Casinos in Henderson continue to offer value, even as value deteriorates in other parts of the locals market, the Las Vegas Strip, and downtown. The low table game limits and great video poker pay tables are worth the drive.

Emerald Island

Emerald Island, located in downtown Henderson, may be the best value in all of Las Vegas. It is all slots and video poker. There are no table games at Emerald Island.

The best video poker game in Henderson is located at Emerald Island. It is 10/7 Double Bonus in the nickel denomination. The 3/5/10 play games offer great pay tables like 10/6 Double Double Bonus (99.96% with a short straight flush), 16/10 Deuces Wild (NSUD), 8/5 Super Double Double Bonus, 9/7 Triple Double Bonus and 9/6 Jacks or Better. These games come in penny, two-cent and nickel denominations. You can play up to 30 coins, meaning a bet of up to $15 at nickels on 10 play.

Emerald Island is also home to great pay tables on video poker variants. This includes Spin Poker, Ultimate X and Split Card. These also come in penny, two-cent and nickel denominations.

The players club at Emerald Island is another great perk. Active players can eat for free daily. It does not take much to earn a free meal on a first visit. You can also use points at businesses all over downtown Henderson, or take advantage of the mobile car wash that drops by several days a week.

Rainbow Club

Rainbow Club has the same owner as Emerald Island. The two casinos are neighbors. It has most of the same great games and perks. However, it does not have 10/7 Double Bonus or Split Card. It does have 9/6 Jacks or Better at the bar in quarter, half dollar and dollar denominations.

Club Fortune

The value at Club Fortune is in the table game pit, which opens at 4pm Sunday through Thursday and 4pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The video poker here is not great for a locals casinos, but I hear the comps make up fo some of that.

Players will find two tables of Face Up Pai Gow Poker here. There is also 3:2 blackjack and craps. All have a $5 minimum bet.

Players that get to the craps table before 5pm can play with a $3 minimum bet. It is the last craps action in the entire Las Vegas Valet under $5. Craps odds are 3-4-5 times.

Pass and Railroad Pass

The Pass is in the old Eldorado building in downtown Henderson. It is owned by the same parent company as Railroad Pass, which is near Boulder City. Both casinos have a table game pit. That is where the value is. The video poker at Pass and Railroad Pass is not great for a locals casino.

Pass and Railroad Pass each deal $2 roulette. There is also $5 craps with 3-4-5 times odds.

Skyline Casino

Skyline Casino is on Boulder Highway between Warm Springs and Sunset. It is a time machine. The music is 70’s satellite. About half of the machines are coin droppers.

The best video poker game is 10/7 Double Bonus. It is a quarter coin game. Other quality coin games include 16/11 Double Deuces Wild, 9/5 White Hot Aces and 18/7/5 Joker Poker.

Skyline has $5 3:2 blackjack at night later in the week. There is also a weekend poker room that deals the last 2/4 fixed limit Texas hold’em game in the Las Vegas market.

Jokers Wild

Jokers Wild is the only other casino in this area. It is owned by Boyd Gaming, though it is kept separate from the company’s standard players club. The property appears to be poised to become a major locals casino related to a new development behind it.

Jokers Wild has fallen on hard times. Table games left after the pandemic closure. The $1 craps game is a thing of the past. This changed the entire feel of the casino. The best value here are the heads up craps machines, which have a $1 minimum bet.
