MGM Resorts has been a major player in the Las Vegas sportsbook scene as the company has grown over the past half-century. It began with the original MGM Grand in the mid-’70s, which is now Horseshoe, and has since expanded to run nine properties that span the length of the strip. It also operates the BetMGM sports betting app.
Bellagio, Aria, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Park MGM, New York-New York, Luxor, and Excalibur are the nine Vegas casinos with sportsbooks under the MGM Resorts umbrella. Given the popularity of their properties with tourists, the company has no shortage of customers looking to bet on sports with them, and that’s reflected in the sportsbook with above-average limits and a unique betting menu.
BetMGM betting menu
MGM properties have wagering on professional football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, tennis, golf, MMA, UFC, and NASCAR, along with college football, basketball, and baseball. They offer prop bets on selected events and have a live betting menu available on a daily basis. Unfortunately with MGM having an independent app, their live betting lines do not show on the standard odds screen, meaning bettors must monitor the lines within the mobile app.
From time to time, MGM will offer markets no one else in Vegas has – such as odds to make the Final Four in college basketball, or team totals in college football. With such a large operation and overall market share, opening unique markets is something we should see more from them, but they tend to shy away from anything that might attract more sharp action.
BetMGM contests
Currently, there are no contests being run at MGM Resorts properties or on the BetMGM app.
BetMGM limits
As is often the case with Strip operators, limits can vary widely from player to player at MGM. You would be hard-pressed to find an operator that will be more accommodating to your average tourist gambler, and as a result, some of the largest wagers in town are placed at MGM Resorts properties.
On the flip side, advantage bettors and players who exclusively bet on the mobile app are not given the same leash, and will often be reduced to standard limits on most markets. MGM’s risk tolerance certainly is not as high as it could be given its customer base.
BetMGM mobile app
MGM Resorts currently uses its own in-house software, BetMGM, for its mobile sportsbook. It has an interface that is clean and easy to navigate.
In Nevada, you must visit one of their sportsbook locations to sign up, where you will complete a W9 and will need a valid driver’s license and player’s card from the casino. You must make your initial deposit in person, but other deposits can be made via the BetMGM prepaid card and a Play + account.
BetMGM is not offering any sign-up bonuses for new mobile accounts in Nevada. Players in other states where it operates receive a loss rebate offer.
Atmosphere
MGM Resorts is committed to creating a fun viewing environment for its customers and has built some of the best books you’ll find on the Strip. Aria and Park MGM are two modern books that hold a smaller crowd, while Bellagio, MGM Grand, and Mandalay Bay, are among the largest books in town and are often filled to the brim with sports fans. The New York New York, Luxor, and Excalibur books won’t knock anyone off their feet, but provide decent alternatives if seating is available.
Parlay and futures odds
BetMGM offers parlays on most straight bets and futures, with certain exceptions for markets that are correlated. They allow teaser bets for pro and college football and basketball, and have parlay cards, teaser cards, and reverse teaser cards available for pro and college football.

BetMGM Nevada online poker
BetMGM is in the process of launching a Nevada poker site. It will be partnered with Partypoker. The BetMGM Nevada poker network is expected to go live in 2023. BetMGM operates licensed poker sites in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
Those states also have a BetMGM online casino. West Virginia has a casino site, but no online poker.
