Primm Valley Resort is back. Just 17 days after Terrible’s acquired the three Primm casino properties, the company reopened this casino, hotel, and sportsbook while beginning a larger effort to restore the long-neglected destination.
Vegas Advantage visited Primm Valley Resort on reopening day, toured the property, and stayed overnight to evaluate the hotel and casino. A video preview is available at the end of this article.
Hundreds of employees, including those who remained after the previous owner abandoned the market, scrubbed the casino, hotel, restaurants, and parking lots clean. The first phase of maintenance was done to fix obvious problems, while plans are made for larger repair projects.
Our hotel room
We originally planned to visit Primm for the media event and to see what had changed since we last visited in April. However, we decided to stay at the hotel on reopening night. The rate was $59. That appears to be the common base rate on weekdays. Weekends are $20 more. There are no resort fees. Rooms with a courtyard or pool view are also available. The price is the same.
Our hotel room at Primm was not luxurious, but it was clean and comfortable. The furnishings showed some wear, but nothing unexpected for a room that has been in service for several years. At $59, it offered a great value for a staycation or overnight stay between Las Vegas and Southern California.
The pool was closed. However, it was filled, and employees appeared to be getting it ready to open.
While Primm Valley Resort has 624 hotel rooms, Terrible’s only opened about 250. The remaining rooms are not up to the company’s standards and will remain off the market until repairs are made or a full remodeling happens.

All players receive $20 in free slot play
The A Play card is no longer used at this casino. Terrible’s introduced a players card branded with the property. All players who want to use a card at machines must visit the cage and get a new one. A $20 free slot play bonus is added to the card.

Primm players club
Primm’s players club has five tiers. Veterans automatically receive Platinum, the second-highest tier, which gives players double points. That normally requires 20,000 annual points. The Black tier requires 100,000 annual points and awards triple slot points. Previous Primm players may qualify for a tier match. We recommend bringing your previous card with you at sign-up.
Slots earn one point for every dollar played. Video poker and electronic table games pay one point for every $3 in action.
Players receive $1 in free play for every 278 points earned, with a minimum $5 payout. The slot return is 0.36%. Video poker and electronic table game players receive 0.12%. Signs throughout the casino note this is three times the rate of the previous club.
Games available
Primm Valley Resort reopened with 422 slot machines. Most are modern video slots starting at the penny denomination. Regular Primm visitors will notice few changes beyond a thorough cleaning.
Old-style reels are near the cage, including the Bonnie & Clyde ones. Denominations are $0.25, $1, $5, and $10. Video poker and keno are available on all bartop machines and on several banks on the Primm casino floor. There is also a bank of electronic table games. The mix of games was nearly identical to what Affinity offered before it walked away from Primm.
Video poker
The video poker paytables and games are identical to our last report under old ownership. The best $0.25 and $0.50 single-line game is 9/6/5 Double Bonus (97.81%). At $1, players get 9/6 Double Double Bonus (98.98%), and a few 98.5% games like 8/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe and 17/7/5 Joker Poker.
We hit three straight flushes on Joker Poker, including just a few hands after arriving for the reopening.

A bank of four machines near the back of the casino has the $1 paytables on the $5 and $10 denominations. However, the progressive meters were removed during the closure.
Multi-line video poker games are in the 96-98% range. One outlier was 6/5 Bonus Poker on Ultimate X, which is on three bartops on the side opposite the sportsbook, and returns over 98%. It is available from nickel up to quarter in 3/5/10 Play. We had fun on that game, too.

Electronic table games
The electronic table game selection remains the same as before. Bubble craps and crapless craps are available with double odds. There are three of each. The 5% commission must be paid upfront on buys. The Lucky Roller side bet is available.
Several multiplayer electronic table games are available. The options are three-player video blackjack, Dual Wheel Roulette (double-zero), and Megamania Superspin, which is a big wheel.
Blackjack pays 6:5 and offers nine side bets: KK, QQ, JJ, 7s, A-2, Match, Pair, Poker 3, and 19+. Roulette uses $0.50 chips and has two wheels of action. Players may bet on one or both games.
Megamania Superspin has a $1 minimum bet. The other electronic table games are $3.
No live table games
In April, we visited Primm Valley Resort to follow up on a tip we received that live table games would return. We found them near the mall entrance and broke the story. However, Affinity’s closure announcement was made weeks later, and the tables never opened. That space is now vacant. The tables were removed.

Speaking of the mall entrance, it was walled off during the closure. All but one store is closed. That thrift store has access to the parking lot.

William Hill Sportsbook
William Hill returned to Primm. It originally left on May 31, 2026. The sportsbook was to be replaced by Boomer’s, but that never happened because of the closure announcement, and now William Hill is back. It has a ticket counter open from 11am to 7pm daily. Kiosks are available from 7am to midnight daily.

Dining options
Primm Valley Resort opened with one basic dining option in the former buffet space, used as the Bonnie & Clyde Diner by the previous owner. Menu items include sandwiches, pizza, chicken fingers, and $1.99 hot dogs.
Terrible’s has bigger dining plans. The coffee bar next to the front desk will eventually reopen. Primm & Proper will be rebranded and opened as a 24-hour diner. The steakhouse is also set to return.
Guests looking for different food options can walk to several quick-serve outlets owned by outside companies. The options include McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Carl’s Jr, and Alex’s Mexican Grill. These are all in the parking lot of the outlet mall.
What about Buffalo Bill’s and Whiskey Pete’s?
Whiskey Pete’s reopened technically. The slot room that uses its gaming license opened at noon on Wednesday, just like Primm Valley Resort. However, the main building remains closed. The goal is to eventually reopen it, but it does not appear to be a priority.
On the other hand, plans are already in place to bring concerts back to the Star of the Desert Arena at Buffalo Bill’s. That hotel would reopen those weekends, should attendance warrant it.
Fallout New Vegas fans have taken over Buffalo Bill’s in the fall in recent years. The property is called Bison Steve’s in the video game. Affinity was taking reservations for that weekend until it ceased Primm operations. The festival, held mostly in nearby Goodsprings, Nevada, is scheduled for the weekend of November 13. Terrible’s could reopen Buffalo Bill’s for the event, as Affinity did in 2025.
The log flume on the property is still operational. While it has been tested, it has not run with riders since 2019. The roller coaster needs repairs to become operational again. The company has stated that reopening the amusement park is a goal. However, it is not happening in the early phases of Terrible’s plans.
It is all a work in progress
While Primm is far from fully restored, reopening the casino and hotel only 17 days after Terrible’s took ownership is a significant first step. Much of the property still needs renovation, and live table games, additional hotel rooms, restaurants, and the amusement park remain future projects. Even so, travelers once again have a full-service casino between Las Vegas and Southern California.
