The number of casinos in Las Vegas with coin games continues to dwindle. In 2019, Plaza and Poker Palace removed all remaining coin games. Fremont and Main Street Station did the same after the COVID-19 closures. Eldorado took out these machines after it was sold and rebranded to Pass Casino, which recently sold again and will close. Jerry’s Nugget removed its last coin full-pay Jacks or Better machines in 2021. In 2026, California pulled its last few coin droppers.

There are still four Las Vegas casinos with coin slots or video poker. About 140 of these games are still available in the market. That is down from about 300 in March 2020.

El Cortez

El Cortez has about 40 coin video poker games and 10 slots. Video poker titles include Double Deuces Wild, Double Double Bonus Poker, Triple Bonus Poker, Deuces Wild Bonus, and Joker Poker. Denominations are quarters and dollars. The slots are $1 reels. These games are in the back room of the casino.

Circus Circus and Slots A Fun

In February 2024, Circus Circus moved its coin slots to Slots A Fun. There are $0.25, $1, and $5 reels. Most of the 125 or so slot machines at Slots A Fun operate on coins now. There is a change booth like the old days. The main coin slots advertise a 97.4% payback, which is much higher than the typical 88% to 92% modern slots return.

All coin droppers at Slots A Fun are reels. The video poker machines are ticket-in/ticket-out.

This was one of many changes at Slot A Fun. Read more about the remodel and new concepts here.

Skyline Casino

Skyline Casino is like a time capsule. It is on Boulder Highway between Sunset and Warm Springs near the new Cadence Crossing casino. Most of the machines in the rear of the casino drop coins, though all have bill acceptors. Denominations are quarters and dollars.

In addition to common games like Deuces Wild and Double Double Bonus, there are some unusual titles on the coin video poker machines at Skyline Casino. This includes Sevens Wild, Double Deuces Wild, Nevada Bonus Poker, and White Hot Aces. Each has a paytable of 99 percent or better.

Sigma Derby at The D

Sigma Derby is a classic horse racing game. It uses quarters for play and payouts. In June 2026, after around 10 years at The D, the machine moved to Golden Gate. Sigma Derby is the only coin dropper at Golden Gate.
