Fontainebleau Las Vegas opened on December 13, 2023, 16 years after it broke ground. We visited the Las Vegas Strip property on December 18, 2023.
The property is spectacular. Some parts are unfinished, but what is complete makes it one of the most upscale resorts in Las Vegas.
The layout of the casino floor is unique. It is circular around a center bar. Table game pits are scattered throughout the casino. Some are only blackjack. There is a pit for poker games. Another is all dice.
There is only one video poker bar. It is in the sportsbook. Fontainebleau does not have a poker room.
Fontainebleau table games
There are 20 different table games. Seven are blackjack. Three are roulette. There are two types of dice games. Pai gow poker and baccarat come in two different versions.
The best blackjack game is double-deck which stands on soft 17. That ties for the best blackjack in Las Vegas. It was $500 during our visit. The six-deck stand on soft 17 game was $300. It has surrender and re-split aces. These games hit soft 17 on the casino floor and start at $50.
There is 6/5 Free Bonus, double-deck, and six-deck blackjack. All were $25. Free Bonus plays like Free Bet.
Craps and crapless craps are available. Craps is $25 with 3-4-5 times max odds. The field pays triple on 12. Crapless craps was not open. It seems like a safe bet that it is $25 and the same odds.
The poker pit games were a mix of $15 and $25. High Card Flush, Super 4 Poker, 3 Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em are the options. Super 4 Poker is like Crazy 4 Poker. Pai gow poker comes in traditional and Dealer Open formats. It started at $15.
Baccarat was $50 in the pit and $100 in the salon. European Roulette was $100. Double and triple zero roulette were $25.
There are two high-limit rooms. The largest is near the Asian game pit. There is a smaller one near the sportsbook.
Electronic table games
All electronic table games at Fontainebleau have a $3 minimum bet. The options are heads-up 6/5 blackjack, craps, crapless craps, and multiplayer double zero roulette.
Fontainebleau video poker
The video poker at Fontainebleau is about average for the Strip. The best $0.25 and $0.50 game is 8/5 Jacks or Better. The other games are all under 97%. At $1 and $2, the best game is 7/5 Bonus Poker. Other options are 9/5 Double Double Bonus and 9/6/5 Double Bonus.
Video poker pay tables are around 99% at the $5, $10, $25, $50, and $100 denominations. The options include 8/5 Bonus Poker, 9/7 Double Bonus, 9/6 Double Double Bonus, and 15/9 Deuces Wild.
The video poker at the bar is identical to what is on the floor. The denominations run quarter up to $5. Games with denominations over $5 are inside and outside the high-limit slot room.
Other thoughts
If you arrive by car, the parking deck is not configured well. Skipping the entry level and going up the ramp to a higher floor is better.
I have seen reports that table game minimum bets lowered after our visit. Some are only $10.
Station Casinos operates the sportsbook. It is hidden in the back of the sports bar where the video poker is. I think Fontainebleau will regret having only one video poker bar. Most Las Vegas Strip casinos have several.
