On May 6, 2023, I visited seven casinos in the Henderson area. All are small. Only two have table games. Three of the casinos have great video poker and were busy. Four are average or worse for the locals market and were slow.

Klondike Sunset
I started at Klondike Sunset. It is on Sunset Road between Sunset Station and Boulder Highway.
There was little happening inside the casino. A bank of video poker machines offers 16/10 Deuces Wild (99.73%), 9/6 Jacks or Better (99.54%), 18/7/5 Joker Poker (99.29%), and 8/5 Bonus Poker (99.17%). These games are available in $0.25, $0.50, and $1 denominations.
The rest of the video poker is much worse. The other games at Klondike Sunset are slots and bubble craps.
Skyline Casino
Skyline Casino is a time capsule. It plays 70s satellite radio with the sound of coins dropping in the background.
There are about 50 coin video poker machines, including some obscure 99.5% games like Double Deuces Wild, Sevens Wild, and White Hot Aces. Other coin games include an odd 99% Deuces Wild pay table, 18/7/5 Joker Poker, and 9/6 Double Double Bonus. There is also 10/7 Double Bonus Poker. Most coin games are quarter with a few dollar ones.
The bar games are not as great as they once were. The best option is 8/5 Bonus Poker. A quad bingo card is available at the bar. Skyline deals $5 blackjack and 2/4 fixed limit hold’em Thursday through Monday nights.
Joker Wild
Jokers Wild is slots-only these days. The pit was replaced with $1 video 6/5 blackjack and heads-up craps with double odds and quarter double zero roulette.
The 99% video poker games are found at $0.25, $0.50, and $1. The best is 8/5 Bonus Poker. Other 99% games available include 9/7 Double Bonus Poker, 9/6 Double Double Bonus, and 15/9 Deuces Wild.
There are a few video poker variants at Jokers Wild. I saw the Wheel Poker machines I think were at Eldorado before it closed. There is also Multi-Strike and Ultimate X.
Club Fortune
Club Fortune removed table games in November 2022. Nearly all machines are slots. There are a few video poker machines. The only 99% games are 9/6 Double Double Bonus and 15/9 Deuces Wild. The denominations run from $0.25 to $5.
Video poker variants include Triple Play, Five Play, 25 Play, and 50 Play. The video poker variant pay tables are mostly atrocious.
Club Fortune has U1 machines. These offer video poker, keno, slots, and roulette. The limits are so low that the max bet on 20-card keno is $0.05 per set of numbers.
Emerald Island and Rainbow Club
Emerald Island and Rainbow Club have the same owner. Both are in downtown Henderson and have mostly the same games.
Both casinos offer 10-coin Triple Play, Five Play, and Ten Play 10/6 Double Double Bonus (99.96%), 16/10 Deuces Wild (99.73%), 8/5 Super Double Double (99.69%), 9/6 Jacks or Better (99.54%), and a few more games just below 99.5%. The denominations are $0.01, $0.02, and $0.05. There are also great Ultimate X pay tables on these games. Several are over 99%.
Emerald Island also deals Split Card and Ultimate X Bonus Streak in small denominations. The better bar games are at Rainbow Club. The best is 9/6 Jacks or Better. Other 99% games include Bonus Deuces Wild, 8/5 Bonus Poker, 9/7 Double Bonus, and 9/6 Double Double Bonus.
Pass Casino
Pass Casino has the largest table game selection in the Henderson area. It is the only casino in downtown Henderson with a pit. The games are $2 double zero roulette, $5 craps, and $10 3/2 blackjack. Blackjack is $5 from 3pm to 6pm Monday through Thursday and 11am to 4pm on Sundays. The pit opens at 3pm on weekdays and 11am on weekends.
Pass Casino comes in a distant last place for video poker quality in downtown Henderson. Emerald Island and Rainbow Club, located steps away, are much better for video poker players.
