There is a new table game in Las Vegas called 3 Shot Poker. It opened at Flamingo and Harrah’s on the Las Vegas Strip in early November 2023. The minimum bet is usually $5. It may increase to $10 during busy hours.
The table at Flamingo is open 24 hours. The Harrah’s one is open about two shifts a day.
Casino Gaming Development invented 3 Shot Poker. Vegas Advantage first saw the game at G2E. We played it there for about an hour while talking with the inventors. We enjoyed it. Here are all the details on 3 Shot Poker in Las Vegas.
How to play 3 Shot Poker
A simplistic way of looking at 3 Shot Poker is that it combines elements of Mississippi Stud and Three Card Poker. There is no dealer hand. It pays players based solely on the hand’s value. What other players have is not relevant.
The hand starts with making a 1st Shot bet. There is an optional 5 Shot side bet, which pays out like the five-card bonus in Let It Ride.
The player receives two hole cards. Three are placed in the center. Players look at their two cards. There is a choice to raise an amount equal to two 1st Shot bets or fold. Half of the raise goes into the 2nd Shot bet. The other half goes into the 3rd Shot. If a player folds, the 1st Shot bet is lost. If the 5 Shot side wager was made, it stays in play.
Once players act, the dealer exposes the three community cards. This gives the players three different three-card hands. The 1st Shot bet is paid based on combining the player’s two hole cards and the first community card. The same is done with the second community card and 2nd Shot bet and the third community card and 3rd Shot bet.

3 Shot Poker strategy
The 3 Shot Poker strategy is simple, which keeps it fun with a little bit of skill involved. According to the Wizard of Odds, players dealt a pair, any two suited cards, and any two connectors, should raise. A hand with one gap, like 6/8 and 7/9, should be raised. Also, raise A2 and AK. Fold all other hands.
Flamingo and Harrah’s are perfect casinos for this game
Flamingo and Harrah’s are the right matches for 3 Shot Poker. Both casinos have the largest selection of poker pit games on the Las Vegas Strip.
Flamingo and Harrah’s are the only Las Vegas casinos dealing DJ Wild. Both also have Let It Ride, I Luv Suits, Mississippi Stud, Three Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. Flamingo also has Crazy 4 Poker. These games are often $5, even during busier hours.
5 Card Pai Gow is another game from Casino Gaming Development
It is nice to see a creative table game inventor group working hard to break into Las Vegas after getting some installations in other markets. We played another game called 5 Card Pai Gow from the same company at G2E. It is a simplistic face-up version of pai gow poker with five cards instead of seven. There is a three-card high hand and a two-card low one. The house way puts the second-best hand in the front every time.
