Main Street Station Casino, Brewery and Hotel

Main Street Station is one of three downtown Las Vegas casinos owned by Boyd Gaming. The other two are California and Fremont. All three of these properties cater to visitors from Hawai’i. An enclosed walkway bridge connects Main Street Station and California. The casino floor has about 600 slot and video poker machines and eight table games. That is the highest ratio of slots to tables in downtown Las Vegas. While there is no sportsbook at Main Street Station, a Boyd Sportsbook is available at California.

Main Street Station has two types of standard 400-square-foot rooms. High-limit players may be offered a 642-square-foot suite featuring a separate sitting area and a wet bar. All rooms have a $37.28 per night (tax inclusive) resort fee. It includes in-room Wi-Fi for up to three devices, self-parking, boarding pass printing, local calls, in-room safe and refrigerator, and access to California’s fitness center and rooftop pool. The property also has two dining options.

In addition to hotel rooms, there are 65 full hook-up RV spaces available at 425 N Main Street. Amenities include a designated pet area, men’s and women’s restrooms with showers, and laundry facilities. Overnight guests also have access to the pool and fitness center at the California Hotel. Up to two small or medium dogs are permitted for an additional $5 per dog, per day.

Weekend table games at Main Street Station

Main Street Station has eight table games and around 600 slot and video poker machines. It is the only downtown Las Vegas casino that does not have table games open daily. However, when the pit is closed, players can walk over to California for table games.

The Vegas DisAdvantage Award for Downtown Casino Vibe in 2024 goes to Main Street Station

The table game pit is only open Friday through Sunday from 9am to 1am and closed Monday through Thursday. Unfortunately, this also means less energy in the casino and noticeably fewer patrons most days. So, once again, this earns Main Street Station the Vegas DisAdvantage Award for Downtown Vibe.

There are two blackjack games: double-deck and six-deck. In both games, the dealer hits soft 17. Other games include craps, Let it Ride, pai gow poker, and Three Card Poker. Video roulette is the only way to play the game at Main Street Station.

Best craps odds

The casino still offers the best craps odds in Las Vegas. Up to 20 times odds are permitted. Once again, this wins the Vegas Best Advantage Award for Craps Odds. Sam’s Town offers this daily while Main Street Station’s pit is only open on weekends.

Vegas Best Advantage Award for Craps Odds in 2024 is 20x

Decreased quality of video poker

The quality of video poker at Main Street Station fell off a cliff in recent years. All the great coin games are gone. The same can be said of 10/7 Double Bonus and Triple Deuces on the casino floor, as well as the full pay jacks and 9/7 Double Bonus at Boar’s Head Bar.

Vegas DisAdvantage Award for Value Downtown in 2024 is Main Street Station

The best video poker these days is 9/6 Jacks or Better (99.54%). It is available in $0.25, $0.50, and $1 denominations. Note that most good machines do not qualify for scratch-off tickets for quads these days. So, Main Street Station once again wins the Vegas DisAdvantage Award for Value Downtown.

Boyd Rewards players club

Boyd Rewards, the players club used at Main Street Station, leaves most video poker and table game players behind from most of the benefits. In our experience, the mailers do not make up for it. It is probably fine for slot players, but for anyone else, we think Boyd Rewards is the worst players club in Las Vegas. Therefore, Boyd Rewards won the Vegas DisAdvantage Award for Players Club again for 2024.

Other Boyd properties in Las Vegas include Aliante, California, Cannery, Fremont, Gold Coast, Jokers Wild, Orleans, Sam’s Town, and Suncoast.

Winston Churchill’s mementos on display upstairs

There is a somewhat secret upstairs area where guests can see some of Winston Churchill’s mementos, including a snooker table. Take the elevator by the entrance that faces Ogden Avenue to see this.

Dining at Main Street Station

There are two restaurants at Main Street Station. The buffet is open daily for brunch. It is open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. The Triple 7 Restaurant and Microbrewery is open for dinner nightly. Other restaurants are available at California.

The buffet is open for brunch daily, but only serves dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. The 777 Brewery is open for lunch on weekends and dinner nightly.

Some Vegas Advantage memories

John stayed at Main Street Station several times. The rooms were clean and of average quality. Rooms that face the railroad tracks or highway can be a little noisy. John used to play 20x craps and 9/6 Jacks or Better at the bar as a tourist. He also enjoyed the large variety of coin games that disappeared when the casino reopened from the pandemic in 2021.

More recently, the casino was the third visit out of 93 for our 21st-anniversary casino record.
