Four Recent Trip Reports

Rampart CasinoRampart Casino

We have been busy with family, working on our other sites, and then slowed down by covid. Here are a few trip reports that cover some Las Vegas activities that we did over the past month.

Craps at Rampart

Our son his girlfriend visited us during their Christmas break from college. We decided to play craps on Christmas Eve night. Kristina and our daughter went to Area 15 to see Nightmare at Christmas.

We started out playing the pass line. It did not go well. We moved to double deck blackjack, where we stayed level for a while. A friend of mine met up with us around 10pm and we went back to craps. This time, we played from the dark side.

My son and friend bet the don’t pass. I started with the don’t pass and added don’t come bets, often taking 10 times odds, the maximum allowed at Rampart. I had always joked about wanting to go to a locals casino on Christmas Eve and bet the don’t as a joke, but it turns out that it was the way to go that night.

Shooters were able to make a few points. That kept my son and friend from winning. However, players were hitting some numbers one time before the big seven out. This went on for about two hours. I cleaned up on it. I hope my son wants to play some craps next Christmas Eve.

KISS Mini Golf

Kristina and I tried to play KISS Monster Mini Golf at Rio the week before Christmas. It closed early on the night we visited. We returned on December 30. We brought our son, his girlfriend, and our daughter with us.

It was busy that afternoon. It seemed like there were many KISS fans taking pictures and enjoying their visit. We had fun. Kristina and I played Monster Mini Golf at Bally’s for our 18th anniversary, an irony we missed at the time. The two courses are similar, just themed differently.

Video poker at Plaza

After a couple of weeks at home, we decided it was time to start going out again. Two weeks ago, we visited the Plaza. It was mostly empty, but nowhere near as dead as it was during the covid peak about the same time last year.

Kristina played Deuces Wild. I hit the 9/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe. I nailed 14 quads that night. We won about $300.

We went to bingo afterwards with a friend that met us there. None of us won anything.

Kristina hit a 6-spot keno progressive at Red Rock

The last trip report comes from Red Rock Resort. It is the best locals casino. Its Rocks Lounge features our favorite bartender and decent bar top games. Originally, Kristina played Deuces Wild while I played 8/5 Bonus Poker. However, we discovered that the 6-spot keno jackpot was over a 100% return. That happens around $2,200.

The 6-spot paid $2,643 when we sat down at Rocks Lounge. About an hour later, Kristina nailed the 6-spot for the jackpot.
