Downtown Las Vegas high-limit blackjack games

Four downtown Las Vegas casinos have high-limit salons. Three are owned by Derek Stevens. The other is Golden Nugget. These are the games dealt at each of these.

Circa

3:2 High Limit Blackjack at Circa Casino

There are two high-limit blackjack games dealt at Circa. The six-deck one is the only downtown blackjack game that stands on soft 17. The other is a double-deck that hits soft 17. Both allow double down before and after splitting. The six-deck minimum bet is usually $100. The double-deck blackjack tables are often $200.

Golden Gate

Golden Gate offers two high-limit blackjack games that have the same rules. One is double-deck. The other deals six decks. Both hit soft 17 and have doubling down before and after the split. The six-deck game starts at $50. The double-deck game usually has a $100 minimum bet.

The D

The D has the same salon games as Golden Gate. The minimum bets are also usually identical, though The D may go a bit higher during busier hours.

Golden Nugget

The only 3/2 blackjack dealt at Golden Nugget is in the salon. There is double-deck with double down before and after splitting. The six-deck game adds surrender. Both hit soft 17 and start at $50. You may be able to get this game for $25 upon request if there is an idle table.

Las Vegas locals casinos with high limit blackjack

There are a few Las Vegas locals casinos with a salon. Most are owned by Station Casinos. At last check, the high-limit double-deck games at Station Casinos permit re-split aces. However, this rule occasionally changes.

Green Valley Ranch, Palace Station, and Red Rock

Green Valley Ranch, Palace Station, and Red Rock all have the same high-limit blackjack games. Players may choose between double-deck and six-deck blackjack. Both allow doubling down before and after splitting. The six-deck tables add surrender and re-split aces up to four hands. All Station Casinos’ high-limit blackjack games start at $100.

M Resort

M Resort deals two high-limit blackjack games. The double-deck has standard doubling down rules and re-split aces up to four hands. It hits soft 17. The six-deck blackjack games in the salon have those rules plus surrender. The dealer stands on all 17s at the six-deck M Resort high-limit blackjack game. These games are usually $50.

Before the pandemic closure and for about a month after reopening, M Resort’s salon double-deck blackjack game stood on all 17s. The casino changed this rule as it went from a pitch to a shoe for dealing it. At the time, I was told that it was temporary. However, three years later, the game still hits soft 17.

Mohegan Sun

There are two blackjack games in the salon at Mohegan Sun, sometimes referred to as Virgin. The double-deck game hits soft 17 and has standard double down rules. The six-deck game stands on soft 17 and adds surrender and re-split aces. These games start at $100.

Palms

While not related, Palms has the same high-limit games as described in the section above at Mohegan Sun, except the double deck game has re-split aces. The minimum bet is usually $100 in the Palms salon.

Westgate

There are two blackjack games in the salon at Westgate. The rules are the same as on the floor. It is just in a different environment. The minimum bet is $100 for double-deck and six-deck blackjack. Both have standard double down rules. The six-deck game adds re-split aces up to four hands. Both games hit soft 17.

Other high-limit salon situations in the Las Vegas locals market

Rio

The Rio salon has been closed for over three years. It did not even reopen when the 2021 World Series of Poker was there. However, you may be able to get the pit to open a 3/2 blackjack game if you play $100 or more. We have seen a few of these games over the last several years. Otherwise, there are no 3/2 blackjack games at Rio.

Sunset Station

Sunset Station has a few blackjack tables in a high-limit area. These are only open on weekends. The minimum bet is usually $25. The rules are the same for these double-deck blackjack games as on the floor. The dealer hits soft 17. Standard double down rules apply.
