Resorts World will close its 29-table poker room on March 30, 2026. The news was first reported by Chris Murray and confirmed by Vital Vegas. Murray organizes a weekly game at Resorts World’s poker room

Closure rumors have floated around the poker world for months. The room’s manager recently departed the company. It was rarely busy and part of a struggling casino with image issues. The company agreed to pay a $10.5 million fine to Nevada regulators last year for failing to comply with anti-money laundering laws.

Resorts World’s poker room uses TableCaptain by PokerAtlas for its cash game and tournament information. The tournament calendar shows that the daily tournaments are no longer available through the March 30 closure date. Cash game action is sparse, with just a table or two normally running. At 2pm on a Friday, the time of this article’s publication, the room had no tables running, according to TableCaptain.

Resorts World was the only Las Vegas casino to open with a poker room since M Resort in 2009. Cosmopolitan, Circa, Fontainebleau, Wildfire Fremont, and Durango opened without poker rooms since then. Cromwell, SLS Las Vegas, Virgin, and Pass reopened after major remodels under new brands without live poker. When Cadence Crossing opens later in March to replace Jokers Wild, it will not deal live poker or any other table games. The same is true when Club Fortune North replaces Poker Palace in North Las Vegas later this year.

Las Vegas will have 17 live poker rooms

The closure of Resorts World’s poker room will leave 17 Las Vegas poker rooms. Eight are on the Strip: Aria, Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Horseshoe, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Venetian, and Wynn. One is at Golden Nugget downtown. The other eight are in the locals market: Boulder Station, Green Valley Ranch, Orleans, Red Rock, Santa Fe Station, Skyline, South Point, and Westgate.

This will make 43 Las Vegas poker room closures since 2011

When Resorts World’s poker room closes, it will become the 43rd in Las Vegas to close permanently in the last 15 years. That is in addition to the ones at Green Valley Ranch, Mandalay Bay, and Westgate that announced permanent closures, only to later reopen the rooms.
