Table Game Survey Walk Through Nine Strip Casinos

Harrah's CasinoHarrah's Casino

On January 9, 2024, we visited nine Las Vegas Strip casinos. It was the first day of CES, one of the largest annual conventions. The casino floors were deserted because of this. We found the lowest limits we’ve seen at some of these casinos in two years. Every Caesars property we walked through had some $5 table games.

The Lucky Shooter side bet is noticeably missing from multiple heads-up craps games since our last visit. This includes Casino Royale, Cosmopolitan, Cromwell, Flamingo, Linq, and Planet Hollywood. The other big ETG observation is the disappearance of Aruze Shoot to Win Craps machines. Machines have been removed from Cromwell, Flamingo, Harrah’s, and Planet Hollywood.

Cosmopolitan

Cosmopolitan was our first stop. The casino floor was largely the same as before. Table games started at $15. The minimum bet was $25 for 3/2 blackjack

One notable difference is that the last video Ultimate Texas Hold’em machine was removed from the floor since our last visit. The 6/5 video blackjack machine is also gone. One of the multiplayer 00 roulette machines was also missing, but two other options remain.

Other electronic table game changes include the removal of the Lucky Shooter side bet on the Interblock heads-up craps games. Craps was also removed as an option on the Casino Wizard machines.

We walked through Bellagio before visiting Cosmopolitan. We used the new walkway between the two. It is near the tram station and Vdara walkway. It connects to the second floor behind Wicked Spoon.

Planet Hollywood

Planet Hollywood was next. It was deserted. All the poker pit games were $5. Craps was $10. Planet Hollywood is the only Las Vegas Caesars casino with $25 3/2 blackjack. We noticed that 3 Dice Baccarat was gone from the floor. About 10 tables are missing from pits since our last visit. This included a few baccarat and pai gow poker tables.

One area where tables were removed is near the stadium gaming, which expanded since our last visit. There is now live dealer blackjack and dual wheel roulette. The stadium craps area about doubled in size with these additions in the past few months. The live dealer blackjack has a $10 minimum. All other ETGs have a $5 minimum.

Other electronic table game changes are the removal of the Shoot to Win Craps machine and the addition of heads-up crapless craps. Heads-up roulette machines now have the Mystery Golden Ball side bet. The Lucky Shooter side bet was removed from the heads-up craps games but is available on the stadium version. However, stadium craps no longer pays triple on a field 12.

Paris

Paris had several $5 poker pit games. Let It Ride is no longer available here. Paris was the only Las Vegas casino with both High Card Flush and I Luv Suits. It now deals only I Luv Suits. A pit was removed since our last visit.

Heads-up electronic table game machines at Paris Las Vegas

There are more heads-up electronic table games than before near the stadium. Options now include blackjack, craps, Easy Craps, and 00 roulette. Side bets are available on all games. Blackjack side bets vary by machine. Games have a $5 minimum. Craps pays triple on a field 12 only on the stadium.

Horseshoe

Horseshoe was full of $5 poker pit games and $10 6/5 blackjack. Its high-limit area is the only place to play 3/2 blackjack. It starts at $50 but is only open during peak hours. Like the other casinos, it was almost deserted with most hotel guests at CES.

The Big Six wheel is gone at Horseshoe. All remaining electronic table game options have a $5 minimum bet requirement. The Lucky Shooter side bet is only available on one bank of heads-up craps machines.

Cromwell

Cromwell was so dead that there was not a craps table open. There were only a few 6/5 blackjack games open for $10. Roulette was also $10. A couple of $5 poker pit games were open. The 3/2 stand on soft 17 game is still on the casino floor. It has a $50 minimum bet but was not open during our visit. Tables returned to the salon. It also was closed during this visit.

At Cromwell, electronic table games are now near Las Vegas Boulevard. Previously, most of the ETG options were closer to the entrance to Drai’s. The Shoot to Win craps was gone and the Lucky Shooter craps side bet missing from the heads-up game.

Flamingo

Flamingo has a new game called 3 Shot Poker. It plays like a combination of Three Card Poker and Mississippi Stud. It normally has a $5 minimum bet. Poker pit games are often $5 at Flamingo. The Roll to Win Craps and live craps game were both $10. Roll to Win had several players but the live game was idle. High-limit tables were open but had no players.

There are two major changes at Flamingo. Bird Bar is closed. The electronic table games previously in that area were missing. This includes a Big Wheel and a Shoot to Win Craps machine.

Additionally, the old poker room area that had video poker for two years is also closed. Both will become new restaurants. Most of the video poker machines that were in this area moved toward the hotel lobby.

Shoot to Win Craps was also missing from the main casino floor. The remaining games have a $3 or $5 minimum. The Lucky Shooter side bet is no longer available on heads-up craps.

Linq and O’Sheas

The table games were closed at O’Sheas. The ones open at Linq were all $5 and $10. Most were closed. We did not find any table game changes here.

Slot machines on the casino floor at Linq Las Vegas

While still on the same level, the heads-up and multiplayer electronic table games are no longer next to the stadium. The Lucky Shooter side bet is no longer available on heads-up craps but is still offered on the stadium version. The stadium version also pays triple on a field 12. Heads-up craps has a $3 minimum while all other games are $5.

Harrah’s

Harrah’s also has 3 Shot Poker. The poker table games were mostly $5. Craps and roulette were $10. Baccarat was $25. The high-limit table room was open but had no players. Live keno at Harrah’s closed since our last report. The $1 video poker progressive machines are still available. The bank, near the north end of the pit, moved a couple of rows toward the back.

The electronic table games at Harrah’s mostly remain unchanged from our last visit. However, Shoot to Win Craps is no longer available. The Lucky Shooter side bet is only available on one bank of machines. Available games have a $3 or $5 minimum.

Casino Royale

We ended the day at Casino Royale. It still has no live table games. There are a few electronic ones. Casino Royale still has a large selection of $5 beers. It also has $5 call drinks and craft brew drafts.

Electronic table games have a $1, $2, or $3 minimum. Craps no longer offers the Lucky Shooter side bet.
