Silver Sevens became the latest Las Vegas casino to remove all live table games. The last day for games with chips and felts was September 30. This leaves 69 casinos in the Las Vegas market with live table games.
In addition to Roll to Win Craps, there are four tables of Easy Blackjack and one Dual Wheel Roulette. Each of these tables requires a live dealer. Craps uses dice. Blackjack uses cards. Roulette has two live wheels. However, all bets are made on screens.
This pit moved to the back of the casino in 2023 with an expanded game selection. On October 1, a new pit opened with hybrid table games. The Roll to Win Craps machine moved there. The other tables, including live 3/2 blackjack, craps, double zero roulette, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em, closed.
Roll to Win Craps offers 3-4-5 times odds. The Field pays double. Both roulette wheels are double zero. Three of the blackjack tables showed 6/5. The other paid 3/2. These payouts may change. The games were being installed during our September 30, 2024 visit. Craps and blackjack showed $5 minimum bets. Roulette did not display a minimum bet. Vegas Advantage predicts this game will also be $5.
Affinity Gaming owns Silver Sevens. The property is being renovated and rebranded to The Continental Hotel & Casino. Affinity Gaming owns the three Primm casinos. Buffalo Bill’s in Primm has all three of the hybrid games that are now at Silver Sevens.
Vegas Advantage has also seen Dual Wheel Roulette and Easy Blackjack at other Las Vegas casinos. Planet Hollywood tried both for about a year. The games are now gone from the floor. Treasure Island had both options available during our last visit. Rio has the Dual Wheel Roulette.
Why change to all hybrid games when dealers are still needed?
This is the first time Vegas Advantage has seen a table game pit close and be replaced by hybrid ones requiring dealers. In the other instances, electronic table games are installed in the former pit area or slot machines enter the space.
The minimum bets at Silver Sevens dropped from $10 to $5 for blackjack and probably roulette. Roll to Win Craps was already on the floor with a $5 minimum bet. The live craps table had a $10 minimum bet.
Hybrid tables offer a few game protection features live ones do not. Chips are no longer in use at Silver Sevens. All bets are made on screens. This prevents bet capping, math errors, and chip robberies. It is one less item for the cage to count.
Blackjack games have card readers. This prevents dealer errors. Real cards are used, but bets are paid automatically by the player screens without the dealer doing anything besides confirming the counts are correct. This allows the games to deal more hands per hour while being more secure.
Live dealers help keep the same experience for players as traditional table games. These games keep the social aspect while lowering expenses and increasing hands per hour.
Silver Sevens is one of many locals casinos that reopened in 2020 with table games, only to remove them later. The list includes Alamo, Club Fortune, and Railroad Pass. Pass Casino opened live table games in 2021 but removed them two years later. Tuscany removed live table games in 2021 and brought them back in 2023.
