The 1,149-foot-tall STRAT Tower opened in 1996. The property was previously known as Bob Stupak’s Vegas World.

The Strat, known as Stratosphere before 2019, is at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, just past Sahara. Some consider it to be part of downtown Las Vegas because it is within the city limits. The rest of the Las Vegas Strip is in unincorporated Clark County.

The Strat has a large number of entertainment options for a casino of its size and tier. The tower has three rides and a SkyJump, which is a zipline from the top to the second floor. There are dining and lounge options on the tower, as well as on the first and second floors of the building. There are several shows at The Strat.

The casino has a sportsbook, table game pits, electronic table games, slot machines, and video poker. Table games are found on the casino floor and in the salon.

Strat is friendly toward social media. Guests are encouraged to take pictures and share them. The casino asks that no pictures of other players, employees, or security features are taken without permission.

The Strat casino

The Strat casino floor is about 85,000 square feet. It has about 700 slot machines and 35 table games. There is stadium gaming and electronic table games like big wheel and craps. A

William Hill sportsbook is on the property. Caesars Sportsbook owns that brand. Transactions for its Nevada app are handled here.

There was a poker room at Strat for most of its existence. It closed in October 2019. The closest poker room is at Sahara.

Table games

Baccarat and blackjack are found on the casino floor and in the high-limit room. Casino floor games include crapless craps, craps, double zero roulette, triple zero roulette, and Heads Up Hold’em.

The Strat has two blackjack games. There is double-deck blackjack and six-deck blackjack. Both games allow double down before and after splitting. All Strat blackjack hits soft 17 except the high-limit six-deck game, which stands on it.

The Strat has the best craps odds on the Strip. Players may bet up to 10 times odds. Strat has the best crapless craps odds in Las Vegas. That game is also 10 times. The Strat is the casino that invented crapless craps. The property was called Vegas World at the time.

Entertainment at The Strat

From the rides at the top of the tower to live shows on the ground, there is a wide selection of entertainment options at The Strat.

Observation deck and thrill rides

With a 360-degree view of Las Vegas, the SkyPod outdoor observation deck is the tallest of its kind in the country. Rides include the Big Shot and X-Scream. The Insanity ride appears to be permanently closed. Get tickets for the STRAT SkyPod and Thrill Rides. Additionally, guests can grab a handcrafted treat at 108 Eats or a craft cocktail at 108 Drinks.

Sky Jump Las Vegas can be described as a controlled free fall, with riders attached to a vertical zip line. Starting on the 108th floor of the Stratosphere Tower, John and Kristina took the 855-foot plunge in 2012. John jumped again in 2020. Guests who can keep their eyes open during the ride down will catch a remarkable view of the Las Vegas Strip. Non-jumping guests can watch their friends from the landing pad.

Live shows and entertainment

There are two main theaters at The Strat. The Strat Theater is located on the second level, there is a bar just outside the theater entrance. Drinks may be brought in from the Theater Bar. However, there is no drink service once inside the theater.

The Dragon Room is located on the first level near McCall’s Heartland Grill. Home of the $25 all-you-can-drink special, it has a bar that wraps around to provide drink service before and after catching a show as well as inside the comedy club. Seats in the showroom have beverage service.

The Strat Theater

Banachek is a magician and master mentalist, as well as a devoted nonbeliever. He performs at 5pm Wednesday through Monday. The show is dark on Tuesdays. Children 5 years or older can attend but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 18 years or older. Get tickets for Banachek’s Mind Games

iLuminate takes place in the dark. Masterful choreography pairs with LED light technology to create a unique visual experience where dancers appear and disappear, musical instruments float in the air, and body isolations combine for interesting formations. Shows take place at 7pm Mondays and Wednesdays through Saturdays. There are 3pm shows on weekends. It is dark on Tuesdays. ROUGE is a sexy, hilarious production with a cast of 18 topless women and men performers. The show is perfect for adults who love raunchy humor and plenty of gorgeous, scantily-clad men and women. Two shows perform nightly on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. There is one show at 9pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. LA Comedy Club Dragon Room

There are three shows nightly at LA Comedy Club. The Happy Hour Variety Show with Julio Gonzalez is at 6pm. Then at 8pm, touring comics perform with headliners changing weekly. Thursday through Monday, Butch Bradley performs at 10pm. Bret Ernst headlines the 10pm show on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For most performances minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their guardian. However, no minor under the age of 15 is allowed in the showroom.

Dining and drinks at The Strat

The Strat offers a range of restaurants. Options include quick bites, a sports bar, casual dining, and a cafe near the casino floor. An elevator ride takes guests up to the Top of the World restaurant, which has views of the Las Vegas Valley while the floor rotates 360 degrees every 80 minutes.

The resort fee includes discounts on the SkyPod, attractions, dining, and entertainment; 24-hour Fitness Center access; and seasonal access to the pools. Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at Elation Pool & Café. It is located on the 8th floor of the Select Tower. WET24 Pool & Bar is adults only (21+) and located on the 24th floor of the North Tower.

Rooms and suites

The 320-square-foot Select Rooms feature either a single king bed or two queens. Elite and Elevate Rooms are 340 square feet. All rooms feature a TV, MP3 player, workspace, and in-room safe. Elite rooms also include a refrigerator. Elevate rooms have the most features with coffee makers, USB charging stations, walk-in showers, and face-lit vanity mirrors.

Suites provide additional space and features, like refrigerators and a separate seating area. The 574-square-foot Tower Suite and 750-square-foot Boulevard Suite have a king bed and sofa. The Tower Suite also features a Roman tub, separate shower, and double vanity. There is a spa tub, separate shower, and wet bar in the Boulevard Suite.

With 610 square feet, the Classic Family Suite features two queens and a spa tub with a separate shower. The 1,097-square-foot Classic Grand Suite features a private king bedroom, a wet bar, and a dining area.
