We visited five Las Vegas locals casinos south of the Las Vegas Strip and in Henderson on January 31, 2024. The casinos on this route are Alamo, Silverton, South Point, M Resort, and Green Valley Ranch. We stopped at the properties in that order.

Alamo
Alamo is a truck stop casino on Blue Diamond Road at Interstate 15. There is little reason to play here. There are two blackjack tables with terrible rules. Blackjack pays 6/5. Double down is only allowed on 10 and 11, and not after splitting. It is the worst blackjack game in the locals market. The minimum bet is $10. Video poker is comparable to what is found in a tavern, though there are a few 98% games with progressive jackpots.
Silverton
Our next stop was Silverton. There were a few changes since our last visit. The Loose Deuces games are gone, meaning the best video poker is now $1 and higher 8/5 Bonus Poker with a progressive. The video poker under $1 is 98% or lower.
There were three changes in the Silverton pit. Crapless craps and Heads Up Hold’em are now dealt there. Silverton is the only Las Vegas casino with both Heads Up Hold’em and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. These games are similar. Heads Up Hold’em only allows a three-times raise preflop, where players may raise up to four times there. Heads Up Hold’em offers a bad beat bonus to make up for this rule.
The other change is that craps now caps at 3-4-5 times odds. Previously, it was 10 times. Crapless craps is also 3-4-5 times odds.
The Shoot to Win machine is missing from the casino floor at Silverton. These machines have been disappearing from multiple Las Vegas properties during recent visits. A previously installed heads-up blackjack machine was also gone. However, there was a new heads-up crapless craps machine. Electronic table game minimums range from $1 to $3. This includes a Casino Wizard machine, heads-up craps and crapless craps, and multiplayer 00 roulette.
South Point
South Point was as busy as usual. All the table games and limits were the same as before, except that craps had one $5 table. The other $5 games were 3/2 six-deck blackjack, double zero roulette, Three Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. Baccarat, Face Up Pai Gow Poker, and 3/2 double-deck blackjack were $10.
South Point is home to 99% and better video poker. These games are available at bars and on the casino floor. The best options are 16/10 Deuces Wild, 9/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe, 16/11 Double Deuces Wild, and 9/6 Jacks or Better.
Near the sportsbook, multiple banks of machines were powered down. These sections were roped off.
The Casino Wizard machine, previously by the sportsbook, was missing. This leaves the multiplayer 00 roulette machine with progressive jackpots as the only electronic table game option at South Point. It is near the sportsbook with a $2 minimum.
M Resort
M Resort now has crapless craps. Its odds are 3-4-5 times. The standard craps game was downgraded from 10 times to 5 times odds. The other pit games were the same. The limits were $10 or $15, except baccarat, which was $25. High limit tables start at $50. This includes six-deck blackjack that stands on soft 17 and double-deck blackjack that hits soft 17 and allows re-split aces.
There is a new bank of “Up to 99.8%” video poker between the pit and Raiders Tavern and Grill. Another bank is near the sportsbook. Otherwise, the best video poker game is $1 8/5 Bonus Poker.
All electronic table game options are now $3, except for Big Six. It has a $1 minimum. Options include an Inteblock stadium and a multiplayer 00 roulette machine.
Green Valley Ranch
Our last stop was Green Valley Ranch. There have been two changes since our last visit. There is a $5 Roll to Win craps game. It offers 10 times odds, just like the $10 and $15 live tables next to it. There is also crapless craps at Green Valley Ranch. It also offers 10 times odds.
We saw the new high limit table game salon for the first time. It has $50 single zero roulette. The other options are $100 baccarat, double-deck blackjack that allows re-split aces, and six-deck blackjack that stands on soft 17. There is a video poker bar in the salon that starts at the $2 denomination.
The video poker is the same as before. The best bar game is 8/5 Bonus Poker. There are a few banks of 100% and “Up to 99.8%” games.
Electronic table game options were also the same. Heads-craps has a $1 minimum and pays triple on a field 12. It still has the Lucky Shooter side bet which also has a $1 minimum. Multiplayer 00 roulette is available for a $0.50 minimum.
