Checking Out Table Game Minimums in Downtown Las Vegas

View of Downtown Las Vegas from the Strat

We visited all 12 downtown Las Vegas casinos on December 3, 2023. It was busier than we expected. It seemed to be a mix of football fans spending a last night in town and National Finals Rodeo visitors arriving early.

Multiple side bets were missing from electronic table games during our latest downtown visit. The Lucky Shooter craps side bet is no longer available at California, Fremont, Main Street Station, or The D. It was missing from the heads-up version, but not the stadium at El Cortez. The Touchdown Roulette side bet is also no longer available at The D.

Main Street Station

Our first stop was Main Street Station. It was the busiest we’ve seen it since 2019. The limits were $10 for 6/5 blackjack and poker pit games, except pai gow which was $25. Craps and 3/2 blackjack were $15. Main Street Station has 20 times odds, the highest in downtown Las Vegas, and is tied for the best in the entire casino market. The pit is only open on weekends.

The electronic table game minimums at Main Street Station remain $3. Options include heads-up 6:5 blackjack, craps, and 00 roulette. There is also a multiplayer Golden Ball 00 roulette machine.

California

California was its usual self. The tables were $10 for roulette and poker pit games, except pai gow poker which was $25. Craps and 3/2 blackjack were $15.

There are still 24 coin video poker games at The Cal. Most are 9/6 Jacks or Better. A few are 9/6 Double Double Bonus with a progressive. There is one Treasure Chest machine left.

Like Main Street Station, all ETGs at California have $3 minimums. Games include heads-up 6:5 blackjack and craps. Multiplayer options are craps and 00 roulette.

Downtown Grand

Downtown Grand was the busiest we’ve seen it in years. The area around the $2 hot dog and beer cart had no room for eating. Nearly every table was open. There were few machines available at the bar.

The $1 even money and $5 3/2 blackjack tables were full at Downtown Grand. The open $5 craps table was packed. Max odds are now 3-4-5 times. Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and 00 roulette have a $5 minimum bet.

The 9/5 Double Double Bonus Poker at the bar added progressives for quad 2s, 3s, and 4s with a kicker and quad aces without one. It already had meters or a royal flush and four aces with a kicker.

Heads-up 6:5 blackjack and craps remain with $1 minimums. Multiplayer 00 roulette still has a $0.50 minimum bet.

El Cortez

We visited El Cortez next. It was as busy as usual. However, the table game minimums were mostly higher. Poker pit games, baccarat, and 3/2 six-deck blackjack were $10. Craps, 3/2 single-deck, and 3/2 double-deck blackjack were $15.

There are still 53 coin video poker machines at El Cortez. Most have better pay tables than any of the ticket machines. There are also eight $1 reels near the back bar.

Electronic table games had the same minimums as prior visits. However, the Shoot to Win craps was missing from the floor. The stadium has five game options: baccarat, big six, 3:2 blackjack, craps, and 00 roulette. The dual roulette previously seen was no longer an option. Heads-up craps and a multiplayer 00 roulette machine are near the stadium. Big six and roulette have $1 minimums. It is $2 for craps and $3 for baccarat and blackjack.

The D

Everything was the same as before at The D. You can get $10 3/2 blackjack during most hours. The high-limit games were $50 and $100. Poker pit games and roulette were $10, craps $15, and 3/2 Free Bet Blackjack was $25.

Upstairs, the minimum for all electronic table games is now $3. These heads-up options include 6:5 blackjack, craps that pays triple on a field 12, and 00 roulette. There are two multiplayer ETGs on the main casino floor. Craps has a $5 minimum while 00 roulette is $3.

Four Queens

Four Queens required $15 for every table game, from 6/5 blackjack, to the 3/2 tables with a $1 mandatory side bet. Craps, pai gow poker, roulette, Let It Ride, and Three Card Poker were also $15.

The video poker is the same as before with a mix of great and terrible games. Four Queens is the last downtown casino with 10/7 Double Bonus.

Fremont

The construction is finally finished at Fremont. It is now confirmed that Texas Hold’em Bonus is gone. It was the last table for the game in the Las Vegas market. All table games were $10, except pai gow poker was $25. The $10 options include craps, 3/2 double-deck blackjack, Let It Ride, Three Card Poker, and 00 roulette.

All electronic table game options have a $3 minimum. Games include heads-up 6:5 blackjack, craps, and 00 roulette. Shoot to Win craps is the only multiplayer option.

Binion’s

Binion’s was the same as before. It has Dealer Open and Face Up Pai Gow Poker. Both were $15. All other table games were $10, including Blackjack Switch, Double Up Blackjack, Let It Ride, Three Card Poker, and 6/5 blackjack. The 3/2 blackjack tables require a $1 side bet.

Electronic table games still have a $3 minimum. Options are multiplayer Golden Ball 00 roulette, heads-up craps, and heads-up 6:5 blackjack.

Golden Nugget

Our next stop was Golden Nugget. One major change is that Crazy 4 Poker is now Criss Cross Poker. Golden Nugget is the only Las Vegas casino with it. This is the fourth try for Criss Cross Poker. All those types of games are $5. There is $7 6/5 Lucky Cat Blackjack where $2 of it goes to a mandatory side bet. It is the worst blackjack game in Las Vegas. Triple zero roulette is also $5. Double zero was $10. Fortune Pai Gow poker and craps were $15.

At Golden Nugget, there is a new 3/2 six-deck blackjack game on the floor. It has a $25 minimum. High-limit blackjack and baccarat started at $50.

It also has a large selection of electronic table games. Heads-up games with a $3 minimum include 6:5 blackjack with either a digital card or video display, craps, and 00 roulette. Casino Wizard machines offer seven games with a $5 minimum: baccarat, big six, 6:5 blackjack, craps, pai gow poker, 00 roulette, and Swap’em Poker. Multiplayer options are $3 and include craps and 00 roulette. However, the craps was offline during our visit.

Circa

Circa was mostly the same. We found the 6/5 single-deck blackjack table open for $25. Baccarat, 3/2 Free Bet Blackjack, and Face Up Pai Gow Poker were also $25. The other poker pit games were $10. The eight-deck 3/2 blackjack games were $10 and $15. Double zero roulette was $15. High-limit salon games were $100 and $200.

The electronic table games at Circa are found on both casino levels. There is a large selection of heads-up and multiplayer table games on the upper level. Heads-up 00 roulette can be played for $1 while two multiplayer 00 roulette machines have a $3 minimum. Heads-up and multiplayer 6:5 blackjack games have a $3 minimum bet. Craps has a $3 minimum bet for heads-up but a $5 minimum on the multiplayer Shoot to Win machine.

There is an Interblock stadium on the main level. All games have a $3 minimum. Options include 6:5 blackjack, craps, and 00 roulette. A dual roulette option allows players to bet both roulette wheels on the same game screen.  Craps no longer pays triple on a field twelve. Also, two banks of heads-up craps machines are available near the sportsbook with a $3 minimum.

Golden Gate

The Golden Gate limits were as low as our previous visits. All blackjack pays 3/2. We found $10 eight-deck, $15 Free Bet, $25 six-deck, and $50 double-deck. Craps, double zero roulette, Three Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em were $10.

There are still two heads-up electronic table game options at Golden Gate. 00 roulette has a $0.50 minimum bet. Craps has a $3 minimum.

Plaza

Plaza did not have any changes. There was $10 craps, double zero roulette, Most Liberal 21, and 3/2 six-deck blackjack. You may find some of these games for $5 early in the day. 235 Stud is exclusive to Plaza and starts at $5. Single zero roulette and 3/2 Free Bet Blackjack were $15. The poker pit games were $10.

There is an Interblock stadium near Omaha Bar. Options include big six, 6:5 blackjack, craps, and 00 roulette. Minimums are $3, except for big six which is $1. Other ETGs include multiplayer Ministar 00 roulette for $3 and Shoot to Win craps for $2.
