Club Fortune Removed All Live Table Games

Club Fortune is a casino just south of downtown Henderson. It was once home to seven table games, including the last $1 roulette table in Las Vegas. It also dealt $3 craps, as well as $5 3:2 blackjack and pai gow poker. Those days are over.

Club Fortune no longer deals any live games. It is now all slots, video poker and electronic table games. Pictures from Club Fortune’s Facebook page lead me to believe that the pit will become modern slot machines and not more electronic tables.

Club Fortune also had a live poker room before the pandemic. It never reopened after the March 2020 closure.

There are 71 casinos in the Las Vegas market with table games

There are now 71 casinos in the Las Vegas area that deal live table games. That number was as high as 81 before the pandemic. Four of the 71 casinos with table games opened since the pandemic closure and were not included in our 2020 count; Circa, Mohegan Sun, Pass Casino and Resorts World.

Casinos that have not reopened or removed pits since 2019 include Arizona Charlie’s Boulder, Bighorn, Casino Royale, Club Fortune, Eastside Cannery, Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho, Jokers Wild, Longhorn, Lucky Club, Maragaritaville, Silver Nugget, Texas Station and Tuscany, Both Fiestas and Texas Station have since been demolished.

Six table game pits in Henderson area closed since 2019

The Henderson gaming market is known for its great value. Unfortunately, this has caused the table game market in the area to suffer due to pandemic restrictions, labor shortages and inflation. It is nearly impossible to profit from low limit table games these days.

Arizona Charlie’s Boulder removed its table games in July 2019. It tried electronic table games, but now only has slots and video poker.

When casinos reopened after the pandemic, Boulder Highway casinos Longhorn and Jokers Wild announced that table games would not return. Longhorn was home to a $5 3:2 blackjack game that allowed players to double down on two or three cards. Jokers Wild was known for its $1 craps game, something Club Fortune also had at the time.

In the same area, Station Casinos announced that Fiesta Henderson would not reopen. Boyd Gaming has not stated its intentions with its Eastside Cannery property, which has been shuttered since March 2020. Club Fortune became the sixth casino in the area that removed table games in recent years.

Where to play table games in the Henderson area

There are six casinos in the Boulder Highway and Henderson area with live table games. These are found at Boulder Station, Pass Casino, Railroad Pass, Sam’s Town, Skyline and Sunset Station. Boulder Station and Skyline have live poker rooms.

The lowest limits are found at Skyline, Pass Casino and Railroad Pass. The last two are home to $2 roulette and $5 craps. Skyline deals $5 3:2 blackjack at night.

In the coming years, Boyd Gaming plans to demolish Jokers Wild and replace it with a modern locals casino. It feels like a safe guess that live table games will be available there, though it could be late in the decade before that project is completed.
